VISION STATEMENT
We envision a peaceful world community in which respect and support for body, mind, and spirit is the birthright of every person, and all creation is held to be sacred.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to create and sustain a school grounded in the principles of Waldorf education as initiated by Rudolf Steiner. Our school, as a beacon of love-based higher consciousness in the Flathead Valley, serves as a community center, nurturing self-discovery of the intuitive wisdom within each child, adolescent and adult.
STATEMENT of PRINCIPLES
We will accomplish this mission by:
- Operating from a place of proactive love which supports deep and profound shifts in consciousness, both individually and collectively.
- Holding nature and all living beings as sacred expressions of spirit, remembering the interconnectedness of all and everything.
- Nurturing a love of nature through methods that teach good stewardship of the earth, including a wilderness experience component in the curriculum, using resources responsibly and minimizing waste.
- Maintaining a physical environment that reflects reverence for nature, principles of Organic Architecture, and Universal Design.
- Nourishing the body by providing whole, organic foods, space for movement arts, and a biodynamic garden and grounds tended by faculty, students and their families.
- Nourishing the mind through child-centered teaching methods in a dynamic participatory learning environment and with a media policy that supports these methods.
- Fostering community that embraces all generations through extracurricular activities including study groups, adult classes, family activities, seasonal festivals and sacred circles.
- Operating in an egalitarian, consensus-based manner that shares and rotates leadership and supporting positions, and provides safe ways to express and resolve grievances.
- Participating in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving through tithing of time, talent and treasure both individually and collectively.
- Creating a legacy of living peace through nonviolent communication, action and being, within our community and ourselves.
